Light at Lahser & Long Lake fixed - Thanks Bruce Henderson!

Thank you to Bruce Henderson, who worked with Bloomfield Township and the Road Commission for 2 years to get the light at Lahser and Long Lake fixed.   The sensor in the left turn lane for westbound Long Lake was broken. This caused a delay in the green light for those traveling eastbound on Long Lake, even if there was no one in the left turn lane.  The sensor has now been replaced, which should ease traffic heading eastbound on Long Lake.  The light will now go immediately for eastbound if there is no one turning left.

Please be aware of the following as a courtesy to your neighbors and for the safety of everyone in the subdivision:

  • No street parking so plows can be effective when the Township declares a snow emergency.
  • Please do not blow snow directly into the street when clearing your driveway - please direct off to the side so that it does not pose a hazard.
  • Plowing companies should not plow snow across a roadway into a neighbors yard.
  • Please drive slowly through the subdivision on snowy days - we have many small children living in the subdivision now.

New Street Sign Options

At the Feb. 17, 2013 meeting we discussed the long-overdue need to replace the 6 aging street signs throughout the subdivision. The current white-letters-on-black-wood signs are falling apart, and the new signs will have to be installed in compliance with Bloomfield Township code, which pretty much means reflective green with white block letterin.

However, we do have several options for the pole design as well as a couple of size options for the actual signs. Various options are displayed below, and will be discussed by the Stillmeadow Association Board at the next meeting.
